Introduction:

Thanks for choosing Reacty. This guide will take you to all the steps to create commands for automating your daily tasks and managing reminders.

Basics:

Reacty has two fundamental tasks, making commands and reminders. Commands automate your basic tasks and reminders are personalized messages for you at the time of your choice.

Commands:

A single task which you create to automate your task is called a command. There are 5 pre-built commands which can be executed from Command Menu (It can be opened by clicking on the Microphone Microphone button).:

  1. Open App: This command lets you open any apps on your device. For example, you can say open calculator. This command will open the Calculator app on your phone.
  2. Reminders: You can create personalized reminders to get notified about important tasks. These reminders are sent at the time of your choice. You can add a reminder by saying remind me to play football at 4 pm. You can learn more about reminders here
  3. Search: You can search for anything on google or a search engine of your choice using this command. This is also the default command which runs when no other commands are matched. For example, if you want to search for Reacty you can say Search reacty.
  4. Call: Using this command, you can call someone. You can either use a Mobile No., or a contact name from your contacts. If you want to call, say your mom, you can use Call 67******54 or by saying Call Mom.
  5. Message: This command is same as the Call command. You can either use a Mobile No., or a contact name from your contacts. If you want to message, say your mom, you can use Message 67******54 or by saying Message Mom.
  6. Play: Using the play command you can play a song on YouTube. If you want to play a song called Some name, you can say Play some name.

Custom Commands:

The functions of your mobile are unlimited and nothing can cover all the use cases. So, to solve this problem you can use custom commands. Custom commands are the commands which you show Reacty once and then Reacty performs those tasks for you. You can also learn about this by watching the video below:

Basics of a Custom Command:

A custom command tries to mimic what you perform on screen. See the following image below to see the controls of a command:

Controls

Control Buttons:

  1. Stop Button: Stop button Stop stops the recording and execution of the command. When you have completed the recording of the command, you can use this button to stop recording further. While executing a command, this button stops the execution.

  2. Pause Button: Pause button Pause pauses the recording and execution of the command. How to use it in the two modes:
    • Recording: While recording, there may be some unknown popups. To remove those unnecessary steps while recording, this button may be used.
    • Executing: This button can help you perform some custom tasks while executing a task, without affecting the whole command.
  3. Bookmark Button: Bookmark button Bookmark is only available while recording commands. The Bookmark button is just like bookmarking in web browsers. This is just like a signal-to-command that instructs it to wait for your input. This also waits for your input while executing the command. You can then resume the recording by clicking the play button. You can use this for inputting passwords in sensitive tasks.

  4. Done Button: Done button Done shows whether a gesture is currently being performed on the screen or if it is idle. When a gesture is started, the done button is hidden and added again when the gesture is stopped. This shows whether the command is currently in idle mode or not.

Recording Commands

You can say or type create command in the Command Menu(It can be opened by tapping the microphone Microphone button).

This adds the Controls to the screen, and you can start performing gestures.

Note:

Always record commands slowly, wait for the gesture to dispatch completely before performing other gestures otherwise it won’t execute the gestures perfectly.

Also if you can’t perform Home and Recent Gestures while using Gesture Navigation on Android Devices with version 10 and above, you need to switch to the Three button Navigation system.

Executing Commands

You can either click on the command to execute the command or speak/type its name in the Command Menu(It can be opened by tapping the microphone Microphone button).
